C-Stunners, stunning the Kenyan way
So yesterday i went to this exhibition called C-Stunners at the Kuona Trust in Hurligham, Nairobi. This artist called Cyrus Kabiru (you might have seen him on Art Scene), has created his own brand of limited edition ‘stunners’ (for real if you get one, i can almost guarantee it shall be the only pair, ever). He has used old pairs of broken sunglasses and many other random objects to create unique and arty stunners that ensure no two look alike.
If you are the ‘artsy’ type, you shall enjoy this exhibition and if you’re not, you shall enjoy trying them on and taking pictures(like i did), they are truly works of art. Infact i think that during the next world cup, some of his stunners should be mass produced as fan regalia.
I recommend y’all to go see this collection(click the link above to see the facebook event page) and if you are rich enough, buy a pair but most of all, go have fun, try on the stunners, take pictures, and support the great talent. The exhibition is in conjunction with photographer extraordinaire Sylvia Njenga Gichia (she did the photography) and George Ndagu. The model is Lynnet.
As usual, i sneaked in a few shots of my wife in the stunners to give you a sneak peak of what to expect there.
Very cool!!The artist should email Lady Gaga these pictures bet she would gobble then up hehehe..I’m serious :P
Actually there is a pair called Lady Gaga – its Brilliant!
Sylvia, i am hoping this doesn’t count as perjury….
